But it will be a few more weeks before we’re in the thick of it, making now the best time to schedule your photography session with the golden, firey hues of fall before the Holiday rush. Every season has a particular feeling. Spring brings fresh hope with its newness. It’s a time of new beginnings and rebirth. Summer is activity, with life bursting in every direction you look. It’s busy and exciting. Fall has always felt to me like the most complicated season. You know that winter is a time of rest as the world lays dormant, and leaving the house (let alone your warm bed) seems to be laborious. But the ethos of autumn is complex and harder to name.
Along with being the time of harvest and gathering of your labors, there’s also a feeling of letting go associated with autumn. It’s as quietly reflective as much as it is active with the labor of the harvest (or starting school if you’re not a farmer). This is an incredible time to be outside to witness the mosaic of autumn, and to especially capture your children or family in artful portraits.
