Show Us Your Art: Creative Senior Portraits for the Class of 2015

Art is important. Whether you are a proponent of “art for art’s sake” or believe it needs to serve a social function, we can agree that the importance of art is a topic worthy of conversation and attention.

For us, it can be both. A photography session may start out structured, with a goal or “idea” needing to be achieved for a client. And then a spark of inspiration may fall. Someone gets on the horse or hides among the wild flowers, maybe they climb up a tree or splash mud on their sibling’s face. Spontaneous moments arise and new perspectives are found, and suddenly we’re creating art for the simple joy of creating art. The same can be said for the opposite. Something may start off experimental and spur-of-the-moment, but an intention can be brought to the session that transforms the nebulous into the markedly profound.

So many of our clients share this love of art, which is probably why so many of them are artists themselves. We love seeing artists do what they do best, especially when they want it to be a part of their photo session. Senior Portrait sessions are very popular for this kind of expression, and it’s such a joy to bring their art to life.
